Mapping the Pakleni Islands
In May 2019 a joint field trip by the University of Vienna, Austria and the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia to the Pakleni islands in Croatia was organized with the goal of producing large scale maps of the area.
Six students of the University of Vienna (Department of Geography and Regional Research / Cartography and GIScience) under the lead of Professor Karel Kriz and University Assistant Benedikt Hajek and three students from the University of Ljubljana (Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering / Geodesy and geoinformation) under the lead of Professor Dušan Petrovič and University Assistant Klemen Kozmus Trajkovski set out from Hvar by Kayak to gather data of the area and refine the maps, they had previously made based on open data.
